Connor Garvey
Connor Garvey's songs are like placing folk-funk guitar & ukulele, soulful vocals, and paradoxical metaphors in a juicer- you've never tasted it before, but it's intriguing and delectable so you have to keep drinking. His clever rhythmic guitar and ukulele foundations provide a medium for his most prominent instrument, his voice. His songs draw the attention of the whole room with humor, daring honesty, and grace.

Garrett Gue and Tazyln Fischer
Garrett Gue, hailing from Bozeman, MT, has been passionately exploring music ever since his uncle gave him a beat-up guitar when he was eight years old. Today, he can typically be found playing a bass guitar at venues all over the Northwest with various Montana or Seattle-based acts, including Mark Wagner. His expression, however, has recently come to fruition in new form. Often times reserved, Garrett shares a moment of honesty regarding his faith, relationships, and daydreams in his debut release, 'Tall Drink o Water'. The title of his album is drawn from the lyrics of one of its songs, 'Sunny Days', and refers to his tendency to be an inattentive dreamer of sorts.

Tom Catmull
Tom Catmull has been writing, recording, performing, eating and breathing music for about 12 years. He is originally from Spring, TX, but moved to Missoula, MT in 1994 where he currently resides on the Northside of town with is wife and two young sons. His performances are split between intimate solo acoustic venues and dancehalls where he plays with his 4-piece Americana-style band The Clerics. All along this merry road he has had the good fortune to share stages with the likes of Greg Brown, Robbie Fulks, Kelly Joe Phelps, Charlie Musselwhite and Asleep at the Wheel. The style of their music usually lands somewhere between the blurred lines of country, country swing, pop and folk. Its predictably tough to pin the music to one neat genre, but it is definitely an American roots driven sound.

Edie Carey
"Accidental Poet, one of Edie Carey's earliest songs, describes a particularly eloquent friend, but could just as easily refer to Carey herself and the circuitous and serendipitous route that led her to become one of the country's most notable young songwriters. Somehow, all of the seemingly unrelated turns from her intention to become a doctor, to a tiny music room in the basement of a Morningside Heights' chapel, to a year in Italy managed to steer her towards music.

Jim Averitt & Sally Newsome
Jim Averitt lives in Gallatin Gateway, Mon. He recently released his fifth CD, Music Is Magic, co-produced by Chris Cunningham (of Storyhill). Jim has shared stages with many highly acclaimed artists including Joe Cocker, David Wilcox, Tom Rush and Jackson Brown. He is thrilled to share his set at Storyhill Fest MT IV with one of his all-time favorite singers, Sally Newsome of Bozeman, who never fails to arouse the crowd with her powerful soul-filled vocals. Sally is featured on four tracks on Jim's new CD. Together they have sold out several concerts, earning a reputation as one of Bozeman's most energetic and unforgettable acoustic acts. Townes Van Zandt described Jim Averitt ... "Songs, like birds have wings. I have watched them fly to the delight of those he plays for."

Justin
Roth
Blending intricate guitar work, smooth vocal melodies and a groove, Justin offers up a rousing potpourri of new acoustic folk. Knowing that he stands on shoulders of those who came before him, hes been compared to the likes of Michael Hedges, David Wilcox, Martin Sexton and Willy Porter. A fan once said that when Justin plays guitar, its more than just an instrument but an extension of himself. Seeing him perform, you see what they mean. Take an eye off him for a second, and you would swear that there were more instruments on stage.

Sarah Sample
"It's the same feeling I got when I first heard Sarah Mclachlan or Natalie Merchant. I knew was listening to a singer filled with confident clarity. I knew I was listening to a singer that can make big things happen with a whisper, and do it all to material that was provocative, clearly crafted, and smart. Thanks, Sarah. It's great when friends become heroes." By Vince Gillbert

Dinner w/ Little Jane and Pistol Whips
Little Jane & The Pistol Whips formed in the fall of 2008 in Livingston, Montana. Ashly Holland (vocals, guitar, fiddle, accordion) was writing songs and playing solo gigs in the Bozeman area when she met up with Marcus Engstrom (guitar, resophonic guitar) and Jody Engstrom (guitar, mandolin). They began playing around the local scene looking for steady gigs when they asked Russ Smith (bass) to round out their sound. Led by the powerful songwriting of Ashly they stylized their sound after early county (Loretta Lynn) and contemporary Americana (Gillian Welch) and soon found a following. Their first EP, "Room to Roam" was released in April of 2009 with the help of Chris Cunningham from Basecamp Recording. They continue to pull in old songs, originals to form their unique style of Americana music.

Jonathon Byrd
"Jonathan's delightful, substantive songs are rich with imagery and textures of influences from Appalachian, country, early American balladry, modern atmospheric Mideastern, urban and old timey folk music. A stalwart of modern folk music, Jonathan is constantly evolving in new musical directions and each incarnation has proven to be masterful. Like a gourmet chef, Jonathan does not create the same dish twice, so we're not sure what he will bring to the table tonight. But if music were a meal, Jonathan would prepare us a banquet. Catch this Kerrville New Folk winner as often as you can; you'll never get 'full', your appetite will only grow. -Uncle Calvin's Coffeehouse, Dallas, TX
